Accident or Fate?
Life for some is hard and rough.
Scrambling frantically to get their needs met.
Jumping through hoops and over hurdles,
Following all the rules as they go, and yet
They are unable to get what they require,
Barely surviving on what little they do get.
Then there are those we see gliding on a beam of light
Who seem to have everything come to them where they set.
Those whose lives appear easy and smooth
Who find they have nothing to regret
For they’ve gained from their mistakes
Their imperfections bare them no threat.
They are the beautiful people whose accident of birth
Has placed them at the head of the banquet.
While others by chance are left out in the cold
Hungering to be allowed in to the fete.
