I want to write because

I wish someone would ask me

My opinions, thoughts and ideas

Not assuming from what they see.

I wish someone would ask me

Why it is I want to write.

Because I have a lot to say?

Or because I want to shed light

On what's inside, rolling around,

Scrambled up, wallowing in chaos?

Yet, if someone were to ask me

I'd likely say I want to write “because.”
