Been Here Before

It’s one of those days

When nothing seems right.

I feel like an alien

Left behind by his flight.

It's not right for me

And probably not you.

No one follows the rules

From my point of view.

I don't understand

The way of the being human.

As they go through their day

I don't know what their doin'.

I'm skilled in making the connections

That bring them together and bond.

Even though I try to reach out

They don't seem to respond.

I've been here before

Too many times to count.

On the outside looking in,

Hoping they'll look up, look out.

And when they eventually do,

It seems it's always the same.

They take a look at me and think

"Oh. It's just YOU again."
