Retired

The slamming of the door, when

she didn't get her way,

the stomping of the feet to emphasize

her demand,

the abrupt walking away to show

her disdain

for the person treating

her kindly,

The shouting at others when her

mistake is revealed,

the exclusive cliquishness of her

friends circle

in the Senior Center,

are so reminiscent of

Middle School,

it makes me wonder

if so many years “teaching”

makes her long to return

to those days standing in front

of the young teens

at the blackboard.
