They would have laughed in the rain

They would have danced in the sunshine

They would have written long letters

They would have elegantly dined

And had they known their future

Was not to lay ahead

Their time together ending too soon

Maybe they'd not left things unsaid


Maybe they would have spoken tender words

Maybe they would have spilled their hearts out

Comforted each other with kindness

They would have loved more, no doubt
