Things I Am GREAT At
On those lonely, dreary days,
When I ponder why I am here,
I remember all the things I do best,
Things I am great at.
I am great being an audience,
Or so says the performer,
After he finishes his comedy
Routine
I am great at cleaning up,
According to my boss,
As my co-workers wave
On their way out the door.
I am great at clearing the parking lot,
My grocer tells me,
As I push the shopping cart
Back into the store.
I am great at returning calls,
Which pleases my doctor,
Who has results of my tests
Cluttering his desk.
I am great at always showing up
AND at always being on time,
Extols the meeting organizer
As he apologizes for his lateness,
I am great at being prepared,
Said my Girl Scout co-leader
Who forgot to review
The topic of the presentation.
On those lonely, dreary days,
I remember all the things I do best.
The unseen things which
Give meaning to my life.
The great epiphany on my client's face
When I remind him his hospital P
Visits are down to three for the year.
Last year it was 10.
The great smile on my friend's face
As she looks up from the scale:
100 gone; 177 to go! She did it
Without medication!
The great look of affection
On the couple's faces as they celebrate
An anniversary five years after
They came in contemplating divorce.
Things I am great at
Do not include humility,
(I suppose.)
