This Pandemic

This pandemic, this Covid 19

Has tried hard to extinguish us

It's made us close our doors

We're fearful, nervous anxious

We've covered our faces with masks

Socially distanced by six feet

We've forfeited birthday parities

We've taken to High-Five air-greets

We wiped toilet tissue off the shelves

Lathered ourselves with hand sanitizer

We swallowed 'C' and 'D' tablets

Listened to the medical advisors

We stood in long lines like cattle

In a shute, to get our shots, twice

And six weeks later to get boosted

We were jabbed once, twice, thrice

And here it is, two years on

We're tired, want to get back to normal

We hope to soon put this in the past

Hang out again in gatherings informal
