I No Longer Try To Spread My Wings

I no longer try to spread my wings.

Too many times they have been clipped and bruised.

My wings can't control the wicked winds

That so many others have seductively wooed.

I've learned my lesson the hard way,

from being shut down by those with power.

Now I know not to spread my wings

Among those whose temperament is sour.
