Things I Live For

HUGS! I live for HUGS!

I'm of an age, or so they say

I must make plans for the day

I can no longer get down and play;

No longer have things just my way.

But I don't fret. I've come to see

That "things" could be the death of me.

I know that eventually

All will become so much debris.

The kitchen tools I'll do without.

Iron and ironing board, no doubt.

The computer, the last time I'll log out

No favorite shoes to wear out and about.

Driving my car I will also give up

Take fewer walks with my old pup

No new hobbies will I take up

Move more slowly when I wake up.

I guess by now you've got the gist.

So many trite items on my list.

None of which will be missed,

Because I will cease to exist.

But until then, my heartstrings tug

For you to just give me a hug

Hold me tight, hold me snug

Let me call you my Honey bug
