Incense Ribbon

Like a floating feather

The swirl of scent touches my nose

On its way across the room

Quietly threading through the air

Connecting the silk scarf

Hanging on the door knob,

And the camisole carelessly

Draped over the dresser drawer

On to the neck tie on the vanity chair.

Then it laughs at itself in the mirror

As it climbs to the ceiling fan

And scatters away, making room

For the ribbon trailing behind.

Prompts:

I took several unrelated objects and spread

them on the table. Then we were to choose

one and write a poem describing the room the object was in.
